Worklist shows Failed to Connect to SQL Server (RADIOLOGIST ONLY)

The worklist may show an error indicating that it failed to connect to the SQL Server.

This error is not actually a server error with DVMInsight, but is an error being generated because teh SQL Express instance (or SQL CE instance) on your computer has stopped working, shutdown, or has encountered an error.

 

Step 1: Reboot.   Rebooting the computer solves 95% of all issues with this error.  

 

If the above does not resolve the issue, then it could be the result of a corrupt SQL database on your computer.

Step 1:  Reboot

 

Step 2:  Delete the Database folder.   This folder can easily be found by clicking on “My Computer”   then double click on C: Drive.   Find the folder called DVMInsight.  Double click.    In side this folder you’ll find the database folder WorklistDB.  Click on the folder once, right click and choose delete.

 

Step 3:  Reboot.

 

Step 4:  Start the worklist.  You’ll get an error that tells you that the database file is missing and will now be downloaded.   In the back ground the file will download.   The program may automatically re-open (if after about two minutes it hasn’t started then start the worklist again)

 

Step 5:  It should be working fine.  If you still receive SQL express errors even after another reboot, then your SQL express is faulty.   (If you’re using the latest version SQL express is actually not used and you may need a patch from us to fix it)
